Denton Repeats at District Player of the Year for 11-AAA

Bryce Denton has once again claimed the title as 11-AAA District Player of the year. Denton has received the award back to back years as the top player in the district. Denton lead the Raptors to 21-4 overall record by contributing at the plate, in the field, and on the mound.
we've got to get back to the ultimate goal of getting back to the state tournament and having success there.
Denton is receiving the award due to the great production he provided the Raptors this season. He had a tremendous year at the plate by hitting .478 with 11 doubles and 4 homeruns. He also solidified a deep pitching rotation with 6-0 record on the mound with a 1.75 ERA and 47 strikeouts in only 40 innings. When asked about winning the award Denton stated, “I think it is cool to win the award, but we've got to get back to the ultimate goal of getting back to the state tournament and having success there.” “Bryce is a tremendous baseball talent. His talent and competitive spirit separate him from most high school athletes. Not only is Bryce very talented on the field, but he is the leader of this team and is also the hardest worker. His success on the field is no accident. His work ethic is outstanding and he has willed himself to become one of the elite players in the country.” Said Ravenwood assistant coach Danny Borne. Bryce committed to Vanderbilt University on a full athletic scholarship to continue his baseball career after high school. He could have went to any school in the country but decided on Vanderbilt for its outstanding academics and athletics. “I chose Vandy because they have a very good program. Good academics and probably the best coach in all of college baseball.” Said Denton. In addition to Vanderbilt, Bryce will have an opportunity to be selected in the Major League Baseball Draft as he is one of the top fifty prospects in the country. This is evident as major league scouts have flocked to Ravenwood this spring to watch Bryce play. Bryce will have a tough decision as he will have to decide to between college and pursuing his dream of becoming a professional baseball player.
