District 11 AAA Tournament Champions!

Bryce Denton threw a 3 hit shutout to lead the Raptors to the 2014 District Championship over the Brentwood Bruins. The Raptors scored 5 runs on 10 hits, led by Darrell Freeman with 3 hits, one of which was a solo homerun in the top of the 6th. The scoring began in the 1st, when Hagan Severance walked to start the game. Severance then stole 2nd and scored on a Denton double to put the Raptors up 1-0 after one. The score stayed that way until the 4th when Freeman doubled to right field and scored on a Micah Kaczor single to left. Kaczor then stole 2nd and scored on a Severance single to left, putting the Raptors up 3-0 after 4. Freeman led off the 6th with his solo homerun, a laser that cleared the right center fence and put the Raptors up 4-0. The top of the 7th was icing on the cake when Davis Elliott walked and later scored on a Matthew Dudas double off the left center wall. This gave Denton all he needed to close the door on the Bruins and earn Tournament MVP honors. The Raptors were led in hitting by Freeman with 3, a single, a double and a homerun. Doubles by Denton, Dudas and Ryan Pope, as well as, hits from Ryan Beamish, Kaczor, Severance and Elliott. There were 4 Raptors named to the All-Tournament Team - Luke Yates, Davis Elliott, Darrell Freeman and Bryce Denton who also earned Tournament MVP. The Raptors play in the Regional Tournament on Monday. It will be a home game against the loser of the Overton/Hillsboro game which will be played tomorrow night.
