Raptors get more hits, but not runs in 4-3 loss to Centennial

The Raptors had a hard fought loss tonight to Centennial. The Raptors out hit the Cougars 7 to 6 for the game led by Darrell Freeman with 2. Errors were the Raptors demise tonight with 7 for the game. The game was close the whole way with Centennial taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd. The Raptors then put together a 2 out rally in the top of the third when Ryan Beamish walked, then stole 2nd. Hagan Severance then singled scoring Beamish on the play to tie the game. Severance then stole 2nd and was driven home by Bryce Denton's line drive to Center Field giving the Raptors a 2-1 lead. Centennial tied it up in the bottom of the 3rd and it stayed that way until the Cougars took the lead in the bottom of the 6th on a wild pitch. In the top of the 7th Micah Kaczor led off with a 5 pitch walk. He advanced to 2nd on a base hit bunt by Bailey Whitten. Kaczor and Whitten both moved up when Severance was hit by a pitch loading the bases. A Denton long fly ball scored Kaczor on the Sac Fly, tying the game.  The Raptors then held in the bottom of the 7th, to send the game into extra frames.

The Raptors went down in order in the top of the 8th, leading to a dramatic bottom of the inning. The Cougars were able to load the bases and were able to push the winning run across with a bases loaded, 2 out walk.

The Raptor Pitchers, Denton, Kory Hayes and Severance combined to allow 4 runs on 6 hits. 8 strike outs and 6 walks.

The Raptor hitters combined for 3 runs on 7 hits, led by Freeman with 2.
