Runners Clean Up Cemeteries for Day of Service
Is there a better place to be on Halloween than an old, overgrown cemetery? There wasn't for approximately twenty of Ravenwood's cross country runners, who spent their morning cleaning up two family cemeteries in the Brentwood area as part of the team's annual day of service.
Some of the headstones were from the mid 20th century, while others went all the way back to the Civil War era. The runners were charged with clearing several hundred square feet that had been overgrown by thorns, weeds, and other unwelcome plant species. Thankfully the rain held off and both groups were able to get a lot of work done. Some of the family members came by to see the progress and were very thankful for the work being done and those who were doing it.
