In today's installment of IN FOCUS, we take a closer look at Senior Grace Parsons. We asked her some questions to get a better idea of who she is and what she's about. Here’s what Grace said…

What position do you play for the Raptors?
I play all over. Probably every position.
How long have you been playing soccer?
I have been playing soccer since I was 3 years old.
What is your favorite position?
My favorite position is outside back.
What were/are your goals for this season?
My goal for this season is to lead the team to the state championship.
What regular season game are you most looking forward to? Why?
I am looking forward to playing Brentwood because they are always good competition and there are always a lot of people at that game.
Tell me about the most exciting sports experience you've had? An exciting game you participated in, watched, etc.
This summer I got to participate in the National Championship with the u18 Tennessee Soccer Club team. We won the championship with a 3-0 win against Carlsbad, a team from California.
What are your plans after high school?
My plans after high school is to go to college get a degree in sports medicine and find a job in that field after college.
If your plans include college, have you decided on where you are going or at least narrowed it down?
I will be playing soccer at Belmont University.
Who is your favorite professional athlete and why?
My favorite professional athlete is Mal Pugh because she is the youngest girl ever to play on the US Women's National team. She is a huge inspiration.
Who's your favorite teacher? Why is he/she your favorite?
My favorite teacher is Mr. (coach) Keel because he knows sports and knows all about soccer and track.
Who or what inspires you?
My brother is my biggest inspiration in life. He teaches me to work hard and chase your dreams no matter what stands in the way.
Tell us about your accomplishments you are most proud of?
Winning the National Championship, WInning state 5x in a row for my travel team, winning state in the 4x400 relay race in track, winning the open 800 at the Great 8 at Vanderbilt University, and playing soccer at Belmont University.
Tell us about your parents/family? What they mean to you? What they do for a living? Anything else you want to share...
My parents mean everything to me. They have pushed me to be the best person I can possibly be. They support me in everything I do, and always put up with me. They have sat through countless soccer games and track meets and always cheer me on no matter what. I would not be the person I am today without them in my life. I have a brother (Grant Parsons) that is a junior at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He is my best friend. I also have a step brother (Corey Hurt) that is a sophomore at UTK like Grant.
What kinds of activities do you do outside of Ravenwood Soccer? Church groups, mission trips, music, other sports, Etc.
Outside of Ravenwood soccer I run track, hang with my friends, play for Tennessee Soccer Club. I am apart of Young Life and attend CrossPoint Community Church.
Tell us something funny about you? Embarrassing moment, etc.?
When I was little i actually hated soccer and wanted to do gymnastics the rest of my life.
When life gets challenging, what do you do to deal with the worries and stresses of life?
When life gets challenging, I go on long runs to clear my head and think everything through.
Tell us about the blessings you have in your life.
I have so many blessings. I have been blessed with the best friends and family, and I am so lucky to have such great people in my life.
