Lady Raptors Beat Cougars, All Three Goalies Score and Earn Shutouts!

Ravenwood High School - The Lady Raptors remained unbeaten beating Dickson County 10-0 in the teams first district game.

Karlie Paschall scored 4 goals. Savannah Hill had 3. Claire Fallon, Sierra Hetherington, and Emma Petty also scored for the Raptors.

Petty, who started the game in goal and helped her team earn the clean sheet on the defensive end, came into the game as striker and scored to create the rare double (shoutout and goal by a goalie).

The back-line group of Kelsey Foley, Lauren Finan, Abigail White, Madison Sumatra, Emma Parrott, Kennedy McCoy, Karley Wilson, and goalie Faith Vanston all played solid to help earn the shutout.

Senior defender Kelsey Foley was asked about the game. "We felt really good about the game. We came out early and Karlie scored within the first minute so that started us off really well and from there, I thought we just kept getting better."

Senior midfielders Lauren Finan, Emma Thomas, Savannah Harris, and Blare Gerido controlled the middle allowing the offense to press forward.

Caroline Hopfensperger, Clara Miller, and Ana Bridgeman also played solid minutes for the Lady Raptors.

On Thursday, Ravenwood faces Summit which should be a very good test. Emma Thomas was asked about the upcoming district game. "Summit will be a good game. Coach Jose thinks they will be one of our tougher opponents. We're really working on how to break our back-line and play to feet."

The game is at Summit High School this Thursday evening @ 6pm.

Finally, last Thursday, Ravenwood played Ensworth to a 0-0 tie.

The JV Lady Raptors remained undefeated beating Dickson County JV 10-0. Tori Case scored the games first goal. Then, Savannah Arenth scored her goal of the game. In the second half, she would go in as goalie and also help her team earn the shutout.

The 3rd goal was scored by Courtney Hill who would have 2 goals in the game. Cassidy Fessmire would get her goal then assist on Hill's second goal.

Brooke Brown also scored 2 goals on assists by Tori Case and Faith Vanston.

As if it wasn't rare enough that both Arenth and Petty both scored and earned a shutout, goalie/striker Vanston also would score and help earn the shutout.

Abby Cunningham and Christina Stauffer also scored for the JV Raptors.

Abby McNulty, Erin Bentley, Mia Fraser, Libby DeVeer, Sarah Cloud, Anna Jahr, Jolie Hurley, and Tasia Gaddis all played significant minutes and contributed to the teams first district win.

Finally, last Thursday, JV beat Ensworth 2-1. Their next game is also at Summit on Thursday. Game-time is 4:30pm
