Coach Londono was asked about the pre-season and how they played in their first game. "It's been good. It's always good to win but there's a lot of things we have worked on that we are finally beginning to do and not just do but seem natural. That's the key. Really proud of them not just because we won but because we played well. District games are coming up next week so the timing is good."
The Lady Raptors play their second game Thursday night at Ensworth. Game time is 7pm.
The JV Raptors won 5-1 to get off to a strong start. Harpeth Hall would score the first goal of the game then it was all Raptors. Courtney Hill would score the Raptors first goal on a beautiful set piece kick from Sarah Cloud. Then Abby Cunningham would score a goal from just beyond the center circle to give the Raptors the lead for good. Then, Hill would score again on an assist from Cunningham. Brooke Brown scored in the 49th minute and Ashley Yoshihara would get the final goal of the game in the final minute of the game.
Goalkeeper, Savannah Arenth would make 3 unbelievable saves to keep Harpeth Hall from scoring any more goals.
Coach Cunningham was asked about the game. "It was good. The girls are starting to put it together. They are starting to connect a lot more. We could tell (in the pre-season) they were all trying to figure out the system we play and how to connect with each other but, as the weeks have gone on, they are starting to build that chemistry going into our district games."
The JV also plays at Ensworth on Thursday. Game time is 5pm.
