Ravenwood Stays Unbeaten, Beats CPA 1-0

Ravenwood High School - Thanks to another shutout and a timely goal by Savannah Hill, the Lady Raptors stayed upbeaten. In the first half, Emma Petty had to come up with 2 good saves to keep the shotout in tact.

Starters for the game included Emma Petty, Sierra Hetherington, Kelsey Foley, Ana Bridgeman, Emma Parrott, Savannah Hill, Madison Sumatra, Caroline Hopfensperger, Abigail White, Lauren Finan, and Claire Fallon.

Faith Vanston, Kennedy McCoy, Clara Miller, and Karley Wilson also saw significant playing time. Congratulations to Abby McNulty and Mia Fraser who saw their first varsity action!

Unfortunately, several Lady Raptors were out of the game with injuries including Savannah Harris, Grace Parsons, Kayla Gruver, Emma Thomas, Kendall Lynch, and Blare Gerido. Karlie Paschall was also away at National Camp.

Senior Lauren Finan was asked about the game. "We had a lot of good ideas but just weren't able to follow through on things tonight. Savannah got a great goal and we got the shutout. Those were good things. We're going to have to put in a lot of work this week."

In the 10th minute, Sierra Hetherington penetrated inside the 18 yard box and fed Savannah Hill. She made her move and beat the CPA goalie to account for the games only goal.

Next Tuesday, Ravenwood hosts Brentwood for their annual "Battle of The Woods" match-up. Game-time is 7pm.

The JV team continued their success with an 8-0 victory over CPA. Goals were scored by Anna Jahr, Makayla Stone (on a header), Courtney Hill (on a play that started with Erin Bentley), Brooke Brown, Christina Stauffer, Cassidy Fessmire, and Savannah Arenth (scored twice).

The shutout was led by defenders Sarah Cloud, Jolie Hurley, Tasia Gaddis, Erin Bentley, Ashley Yoshihara, and Makayla Olds.
