Ravenwood pulled away in the fourth quarter to win the first meeting between the Raptors and Fairview 42-27 in a non-conference Williamson County contest Friday in Fairview.
A Jared McAruthur touchdown catch sealed the win for Ravenwood with about 90 seconds to play.
The Class 3A Yellow Jackets were tied with the Class 6A Raptors at 21-21 before Jordan Smith ran in a touchdown midway through the third quarter for a 28-21 lead.
Fairview standout Darius James broke loose for a 52-yard strike several minutes into the fourth quarter, but the Yellow Jackets missed the PAT for a 28-27 score.
Smith tacked on another TD run and McArthur hauled in Brian Garcia’s second TD pass to ice the win.
Smith closed with 101 yards rushing and the two scores for the Raptors, while Garcia completed 19-of-29 for 275 yards and two scores with one interception. Both Nick Stallcup and Anthony Holmes added rushing TDs, while Stallcup also caught four balls for 85 yards and a score.
Ravenwood out-gained Fairview 513-315 in the contest. Both combined for 18 penalties in the contest, totaling 173 yards.
James had a pair of TD runs for Fairview, while Khristian Harris-Lusk added a 70-yard touchdown.
The Raptors close out the regular season at home next week against Independence. Both are part of a four-way tie atop the Region 6-6A standings
