Senior Spotlight: Hanna Cho

Senior Hanna Cho ran cross country as a sophomore and has returned for her senior year. She is one of our best JV runners. Her #1 sport is swimming - she is one of Ravenwood's best and consistently qualifies for the state championships every February.

Why do you run? I returned to run with the cross country because Jamie and LillyAnn motivated me to want to join again. I really missed the funny stories I would hear on runs and the excitement of meets. But I also run because I can eat more.

When/how did you start running? I first began running on the cross country team at Woodland Middle School as a 6th grader. I can not recall what prompted me to join, but I stuck with it for all of middle school.

What is your favorite workout? I absolutely love all three of the hill workouts, but my favorite is the Raintree hill.

What advice would you offer a new runner? Please make sure you condition during the summer. It prepares you a whole lot for the season, but it also gives you a chance to become familiar with your teammates.

What will you miss the most about running cross country at Ravenwood? I’ll miss running in the rain and the supportive spirit of the team. But I will seriously miss some of the underclassmen girls I got to know. They all have very bright futures ahead of them (Yes, Katie, especially you).

What is on your iPod? LANY, offonoff, Radiohead, Mitski, and some Korean music.

What do you like to do besides run? Painting, hiking, and watching movies.

What do you plan to study in college? I would like to study Political Science, but I am also interested in Chemistry.
